Black women were sparse on the stage at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wis. from July 15 to 18. Here’s a look at the few sistas unmuted on the mic.
Madeline Brame became a national victims rights advocate following the murder of her son, Sergeant Hason Correa in 2018. Brame was featured among the “Everyday People” speakers on RNC night #2 themed “Make America Safe Again.” Her speech focused on her desire for prosecutors to be tough on crime. Brame was recently featured in a Spectrum News NY1 report on Black voters supporting former President Donald Trump.

Award-winning singer Mary Millben opened RNC night #4 with The National Anthem. The theme of RNC night #4 was “Make America Great Again.” The accomplished entertainer has performed for numerous presidential administrations. Millben was elected the second African American female Student Body President and the first African American female Vice President at the University of Oklahoma, according to her website.

Former Charlotte-Mecklenburg School board candidate Annette Albright was an “Everyday People” speakers on RNC night #4. She spoke about school choice and safety. Back in 2016 Albright was left with a concussion when she was attacked by high school students.
